You connect OpenWeather once at the MSP level, with an API key.

1. Get an API key

1

Sign in to OpenWeather

Sign in at home.openweathermap.org, or create an account there.
2

Subscribe to One Call by Call for weather alerts

Weather alerts and the weather at a past time come from the One Call API. Open Billing plans and subscribe to One Call by Call: the first 1,000 calls a day are free. Set the daily call limit there to the most you want to pay for. Without it, agents still read current weather and the 5 day forecast, with no alerts.
3

Copy the key

Open the API keys tab and copy a key, or generate one named “Neo”. A new key can take a few hours to start working.

2. Add the key in Neo

1

Open Integrations

Open Integrations → OpenWeather in the Neo Dashboard. The card is under Other.
2

Save the key

Paste the API Key and click Save. Neo checks the key with OpenWeather before it saves, so a wrong key is rejected straight away. A key made in the last few hours may be rejected too: save again later.

3. Turn OpenWeather on per agent

Open the agent from Agents, go to the Integrations section, and configure the OpenWeather block. For storm checks and outage causes, Weather, Forecasts & Alerts at Read Only is enough. To act on a storm, the agent also needs your RMM: Execute RMM Script with a shutdown script in your RMM’s library to shut servers down, and, for maintenance mode, your RMM’s own permission group (NinjaOne: Devices at Read / Write). An RMM whose API has no maintenance mode gets the device and the time window in the agent’s note, for a technician to set. Neo needs each client site’s address in your PSA to find its weather. See OpenWeather API for what each profile does.
