OpenWeather sells weather data for any place in the world. Connect it, and Neo agents can read the weather at a client’s site while they work a ticket, a chat or a scheduled check.

What Neo can do with OpenWeather

  • Check a client site for government weather alerts (storms, floods, high wind, heat) and the forecast, and act through your RMM: shut a server down with your RMM’s shutdown script, or put a device in maintenance mode where your RMM’s API allows it (NinjaOne)
  • When a server or a site’s internet goes offline, read the weather at the site at that time, so the technician sees whether a storm was there
  • Read current weather, hourly and daily forecasts, air quality and fire danger for an address
  • Read and manage your OpenWeather account’s weather stations and saved solar locations, as your permission groups allow
See OpenWeather API for the permission groups and profiles. Weather is about places, so there is no company mapping to set up. The agent reads the site’s address from your PSA and turns it into coordinates with OpenWeather’s geocoding.

Which OpenWeather plan you need

One Call by Call stops at the daily call limit you set in your OpenWeather account, so a busy agent cannot run up a bill past it. OpenWeather’s licence asks for a visible credit where its data is shown: the words “Weather data provided by OpenWeather”, a link and the OpenWeather logo. Agents end a weather note or message with the words and the link; ticket notes and chats do not reliably show images, so the logo is yours to add where you show the data to your clients. If your OpenWeather contract waives attribution, say so in the agent’s instructions.
