Float API

The common use is a project booking: an agent reads the dates a PSA project needs, finds the technicians Float shows as free on those days, and books the chosen one on the Float project.

Automatically enabled when you configure Float permissions in your agent workflow, or on a dashboard.

What It Does

Read each person’s capacity, booked, billable, time off and free hours for any date range
Read, create, change and remove bookings (allocations) and statuses, such as working from home
Read and change people, roles and departments, and archive a person who left
Read and change projects, clients, phases, project tasks, milestones, stages, templates, expenses, rate cards and currencies
Read and record time off, read team and public holidays
Read and record logged time, and compare it with the hours booked
Read the ids of bookings, time off and logged time deleted in the last 72 hours, when the Account Owner turned on Float’s delete log

Permission Groups

Group	Covers
People	People on the schedule with their email, role, department, tags, working hours per weekday, hourly rate, cost rates, managers and sign-in account; roles, departments and accounts. Create, change, archive and delete people, roles and departments
Schedule	Allocations: who works on which project, phase and task, on which dates, for how many hours a day, with notes; and each person’s status for a date. Create, change and delete them
Time Off & Holidays	Time off with its type, dates, hours and notes, time off types, team holidays and public holidays per region. Create, change and delete time off, time off types and team holidays
Projects	Projects with their client, code, status, dates, budget, rates and team; clients, phases, project tasks, milestones, project stages, templates, expenses, rate cards and currencies. Create, change and delete them
Logged Time	Hours each person logged per day on a project, phase and task, with notes and whether they are billable. Create, change and delete them
Reports	For a date range: each person’s capacity, time off, booked, billable, non-billable, overtime and free hours, and each project’s booked, billable and non-billable hours. Read only

Safety Controls

Deletes that remove history	Deleting a person, a project or a phase also deletes every booking and every hour of logged time on it, and Float cannot undo it. Neo always asks a technician first, in every profile. Archiving keeps them, and Neo archives unless told to delete
Writes from the API reference only	Neo sends only the writes in Float’s API reference; any other write is refused before it reaches Float
Request budget	Neo sends at most 100 calls a minute per Float account, under Float’s own limits
