GoDaddy is a domain registrar and host. Many MSPs keep their customers’ domains, DNS, SSL certificates, websites and email in one GoDaddy account; some customers keep their own. Connect it, and Neo agents can audit every domain on a schedule, answer “where does this website point?”, and make the DNS change a ticket asks for.

What Neo can do with GoDaddy

  • Domains: read each domain’s nameservers, status, expiry, auto-renew, privacy and transfer lock, and turn auto-renew on or off
  • DNS records and forwarding: read, add, change and remove A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and CAA records, and a domain’s forwarding
  • Nameservers: move a domain to other nameservers
  • Registration and renewal: check availability and price, register and renew domains
  • Transfers and transfer lock: follow and manage transfers, and set each domain’s transfer lock
  • SSL certificates: read certificates and their expiry, and order, renew, reissue or revoke them, with GoDaddy’s Classic Developer Key
  • Websites and hosting: read applications on GoDaddy Hosting, their status, deployments and logs, and deploy or restart them
  • Email mailboxes: read mailboxes on your domains and create new ones
See GoDaddy API for the permission groups.

A domain audit

A scheduled agent can check your domains and tell your team only what needs attention: nameservers that are not the ones you expect, a missing SPF, DMARC or MX record, a website record that is missing, a domain about to expire with auto-renew off, a transfer lock that is off, an application that is not running, and SSL certificates that end soon. Tell the agent which nameservers and records you expect, and where to send the report. Each run reads the settings of every domain, and the DNS records of up to 25 domains, up to 5 Hosting applications and up to 5 certificate subscriptions, which keeps it inside GoDaddy’s rate limit. The domains you name in the instructions go first. The report says how many it did not check that run.

Your domains are mapped to your PSA companies

Neo matches each domain in your GoDaddy account to the PSA company whose website is that domain, and suggests an AI match for the rest. It keeps the mapping on the GoDaddy card’s Organization Mapping tab, refreshed on each PSA metadata sync. A customer often owns several domains, and each is its own row. These matches are suggestions. Confirm each domain on the Organization Mapping tab, or set the right company by hand, before agents use it on a ticket. A mapping you set by hand survives every later sync. On a ticket, an agent works in GoDaddy only on the domains mapped to the ticket’s company, plus GoDaddy’s catalog (availability, prices, TLDs). Lists of the whole account, and certificates, websites and mailboxes, are read from a scheduled agent or a chat, where the agent reaches every domain in the account. A customer that keeps its own GoDaddy account can get its own token on the card (Add a customer’s own key). That token reaches only the domains mapped to that customer, and GoDaddy’s catalog, so map the customer’s domains on the tab first.
