Discord is where many teams chat. Connect your own Discord bot to Neo once, and Neo agents can post in your channels, message a technician directly, and ask for approvals in Discord.

What Neo can do with Discord

  • Post an alert in your team’s channel when an urgent ticket arrives, with the ticket’s details and a link to it
  • Send a technician a direct message about a ticket that needs them
  • Ask for an approval in a channel, mentioning your approvers, and act on the ✅ or ❌ on its next run
  • Read a channel’s messages, replies and reactions, and find servers, channels and people by name
  • Manage channels, threads, members, roles, invites and server events, with the approvals your access profile sets

How an approval in Discord works

  1. The agent posts the request in the channel your instructions name, with what it wants to do and why, and adds ✅ and ❌ reactions.
  2. It notes the request on the ticket and ends the run. Nothing waits.
  3. On its next run, such as the next ticket update or a scheduled check, it reads who reacted. It counts only the people or the role your instructions name as approvers, and acts when one approved and none declined.
  4. It replies under the request with what it did.
Tell the agent in its instructions which channel to ask in and who approves. A write that your agent’s permissions mark as needing approval still asks through Neo’s own approval step as well. See Discord API for the permission groups.
