Before you start
- Ninety’s API comes with the Thrive and Legacy plans.
- The token acts as the Ninety user who makes it, with that user’s role. Make it as an Owner or Admin: other roles see only their own Teams, and Ninety’s company-wide lists need an Owner or Admin.
- Every To-Do, Issue and comment Neo writes shows that user as its creator. Many MSPs make the token on a user named for Neo.
1. Make the token
In Ninety, click your name at the bottom of the left navigation, open User Settings → Developer Settings, and click Generate New Token. Pick an expiry (30, 90, 180 or 365 days), name it Neo, and copy the token. Ninety shows it once. Keep it out of email and chat: anyone who has it can act as that user in Ninety. Neo calls Ninety athttps://api.public.ninety.io/v1 with the token as a bearer token.
When the token expires, Ninety refuses Neo’s calls: make a new token and save it again.
2. Add the token in Neo
1
Open Integrations
In the Neo Dashboard, open Integrations and find the Ninety card, under Project Management.
2
Save the token
Paste the token and click Save settings. Neo checks it against Ninety before saving, so a wrong or expired token is rejected straight away.
3. Turn Ninety on per agent
Open the agent, go to the Integrations section, and pick an access profile for the Ninety block, or set each area yourself:
A link between two items (a To-Do linked to a Rock) needs Read / Write on both items’ areas.
See Ninety API for the profiles and what the agent can read and change.
