What Neo can do with 8x8
- Create the 8x8 user for a new starter, with their site, licence, extension and a free number, and add them to their team’s ring groups
- Deactivate a leaver, take them out of ring groups, and free their licence when you ask for it
- Change a user’s name, job title, department, number or call settings
- Add, reorder and remove ring group members, and create and delete ring groups
- Read sites, addresses and the account’s phone numbers, and manage the company directory’s shared contacts
- Read the Admin Console audit log, to see who changed a user or a ring group and when
Two ways to connect
You connect 8x8 with an 8x8 API key, with 8x8’s SCIM user provisioning, or with both:- API key: reaches users, ring groups, sites, addresses, numbers, contacts and the audit log. 8x8 gives its Administration API keys to the accounts in its beta: ask your 8x8 account manager to add the client’s account.
- SCIM: creates, updates and deactivates users on every X Series plan. Ring groups, numbers and licences go through the API key, so an agent connected with SCIM alone hands those steps to a technician.
One connection per client
An 8x8 key belongs to one 8x8 account, so you connect 8x8 once for each client, with that client’s key or SCIM token, and the connection belongs to that client’s company in Neo. On a ticket that belongs to a company, the agent reaches only that company’s connection. A ticket with no company reaches no client’s connection. In a chat or a scheduled agent, the agent names the client it works for, and Neo accepts only a company on your Companies tab.Next steps
Connect 8x8
Create an API key or turn on SCIM in a client’s 8x8 Admin Console, and save it in Neo.
