Quick start

1

Add to time entry workflow

Add the action to workflows that process time entries, either when created or during review periods.
2

Define review criteria

Set up criteria for what constitutes complete and accurate time entries based on your billing standards.
3

Configure follow-up actions

Use “Update Time Entry Fields” to apply corrections and “Notify Internal Team” to alert about issues.
4

Test and monitor

Review results in Executions and adjust criteria based on your team’s time tracking patterns.

How it works

The action reviews time entries:
  1. Checks notes, work types, billable status, and duration.
  2. Validates that required information is present.
  3. Checks entries against your billing and policy standards.
  4. Flags missing notes, incorrect categories, or policy violations.
  5. Provides recommendations for improving entries.

Setup

Time entries to review: Works with time entries from your workflow trigger or previous actions. Fields to triage: The fields you can pick depend on your PSA, because each PSA names and models them differently — ConnectWise time entries carry an agreement, Autotask time entries carry a contract. The builder only lists the fields your own PSA has, so choose from the dropdown rather than copying a field name from another PSA’s setup. Review criteria: Define standards for complete time entries, including required note details, appropriate work types, and billing compliance rules. Custom instructions (optional): Provide specific guidance for your billing standards and time tracking policies.

Common use cases

Check time entries for billing accuracy before approval, including documentation and work type classification.
Identify time entries with incomplete or missing notes.
Verify that time entries use correct work types and service categories for reporting and billing.
Detect time entries that violate company policies, such as excessive hours or inappropriate billing categories.

Example workflows

  1. Trigger: Scheduled workflow (weekly)
  2. Find Entities — get all time entries from the past week
  3. Time Entry Triage — review for billing compliance
  4. Notify Internal Team — alert managers about flagged entries
