# Buying Neo through Pax8

> Activating your account, how Pax8 invoices you, and what a plan change costs

Your Pax8 order starts the activation; Pax8 then bills you for what your account uses. The plan and
any credits above it appear on your normal Pax8 invoice, so there is no second bill and no card to add.

## Activating your account

Buying does not create your Neo account. We email an activation link to the admin address Pax8
collected at checkout.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the link and sign in">
    Sign in with your **Microsoft 365 work account**. A personal Microsoft account will not work.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Finish setup">
    Choose your plan and connect your PSA. Your account exists once you have been through this.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The link never expires, so an older copy of the email works as well as the newest one, and only the
first sign-in claims the order.

Cannot find the email? Email [support@neoagent.io](mailto:support@neoagent.io) and we will re-send
it. A missing email usually means a wrong address at checkout or a mail filter.

## What you are charged for

| Line                    | How it bills                                                         |
| ----------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Your plan | One month of the plan you finish the month on |
| Credits above your plan | Charged per credit at your plan's overage rate |
| Phone Agent | A flat monthly fee. Call minutes draw credits from your plan instead |
| End-User Chat Bot | Per client company, banded by how many people there raise tickets |

Everything reaches you on the Pax8 invoice. Your first month bills only from the day you chose a
plan, so a free trial costs nothing.

## Changing plan

Change your plan from **Billing → Plan & billing → Change plan**. A plan change bills the plan you
**finish the month on**, for the whole month.

* **Upgrade mid-month** — you pay one month of the new plan. The old plan and any overage it had
  built up come off the invoice.
* **Downgrade mid-month** — you pay one month of the lower plan, plus any credits the month used
  above that plan's allowance.

Two things follow.

Upgrade once your overage already costs more than the higher plan. Upgrading with a few days left
still bills a full month of it.

<Warning>
  Check the credits you have already used before you downgrade. A downgrade can **raise** this
  month's invoice, because the whole month's credits are then measured against the smaller allowance.
</Warning>

Ask us to make the change on the 1st if you want it to apply from next month.

## What is different from buying direct

* Pax8 invoices you. Pax8 billing needs no card, and there is no payment to manage in Neo.
* No top-up packs to set up — credits above your plan simply appear on the next Pax8 invoice.
* Cancelling goes through Pax8, not through Neo. Your account is switched off when Pax8 tells us,
  and switched back on with your plan intact if you buy again.

## Moving from direct billing to Pax8

Already paying Neo directly and now buying through Pax8? Nothing is charged twice. Your existing
subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and Pax8 billing starts the day after
it ends. You confirm both dates on screen before anything changes, and credit packs you have already
bought stay usable.
