# Connecting ZOEY to Neo

> Get a ZOEY API Service user from Tekton Billing and save it in Neo

You connect ZOEY once at the MSP level. One API user covers every account.

## 1. Get an API Service user

ZOEY's API takes only a dedicated **API Service** user. Ask Tekton Billing support to enable the ZOEY API for your ZOEY and to create an API Service user for Neo, and keep its user name and password.

> [!WARNING]
>
> ZOEY allows each user 500 API requests an hour. Use this user for Neo alone, so another tool does not use up Neo's allowance.

## 2. Add it in Neo

**1. Open Integrations**

In the Neo Dashboard, open **Integrations** and find the ZOEY card, under Accounting.

**2. Enter the address and the user**

Enter the address you open ZOEY at, such as `https://myaccount.example.co.uk`, and the API user's name and password. The address must be reachable from the internet over HTTPS with a certificate from a public authority.

**3. Save**

Click **Save settings**. Neo logs in to ZOEY and reads an account before saving, so a wrong address, user name or password is rejected straight away.

## 3. Turn ZOEY on per agent

Open the agent, go to its **Tools & Settings** tab, click **Accounting**, and expand the **ZOEY** block. Pick one of its **Presets**, or set each area yourself:

| Area | Access levels you can pick | Notes |
| - | - | - |
| **Accounts, Cost Centres and Contacts** | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Accounts, their sites and contacts. |
| **Services** | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Services, their supplier, tariff, bolt-ons and bars; connecting, changing and ceasing them. |
| **Invoices, Charges and Billing Terms** | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Invoices, credit notes and service charges. Read / Write also lets other writes set prices, charges, a balance or payment terms. |
| **Product Catalogue** | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Tariffs, bolt-ons, bundles, fixed charges, rate cards, networks and extra fields. |
| **Customer Portal Logins** | Disabled, Read / Write | Creating a login to your customer portal. |
| **Commissions** | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Commission agents and rules. |

| Preset | What runs on its own | What asks a technician |
| - | - | - |
| **Read Only** | Every read | No write is allowed |
| **Helpdesk** | Reads | Every change to accounts, contacts and services |
| **IT Admin** | Every read, and changes to accounts, contacts and services | Charges and prices, catalogue changes and portal logins |
| **Full Automation** | Every read and write | Only the writes that always ask |

Closing an account and porting a number out always ask a technician, whatever the preset.

## Use it on support tickets

Map each customer on the Organization Mapping tab first, and make sure your PSA files each ticket under the customer's company: on a ticket, the agent reads only the account mapped to the ticket's company.

See [ZOEY API](https://docs.neoagent.io/agents/tools/accounting/zoey-api.md) for what the agent can read and change.
