# Pushover

> Page your technicians from Neo with Pushover, and check that every urgent page was acknowledged

Pushover sends push notifications to phones, tablets and desktops. An emergency message repeats until someone acknowledges it, and Pushover records who acknowledged it and when. Connect it once with an application token, and Neo agents can page your technicians and follow up on each page.

## What Neo can do with Pushover

* Page the on-call technician or group when an urgent ticket arrives, with the ticket's details and a link to it
* Check whether the page was acknowledged, by whom and when
* Take the protective action your instructions name when nobody acknowledged: page the next person, note the ticket, change its priority or owner
* Stop a page from repeating once the ticket is handled
* Swap the technicians in your on-call delivery group, and add or remove members of your Pushover for Teams team

## How a page and its follow-up work

The agent sends an emergency message and writes the receipt on the ticket as an internal note. To follow up, it waits with the Delay tool for the time your instructions give (up to 30 minutes) and reads the receipt, or a scheduled agent checks the receipts in recent ticket notes. When nobody acknowledged, it does what your instructions say, for example:

```
If the page is not acknowledged within 10 minutes, page the "Escalation" group,
add an internal note, and set the ticket's priority to Critical.
```

Neo never acknowledges a page for a technician.

See [Pushover API](https://docs.neoagent.io/agents/tools/communication/pushover-api.md) for the permission groups.
