# Password Link

> Let Neo agents send new and reset passwords to your clients' end users as Password Link secret links

Password Link shares a secret through a link that stops working once it reaches its view limit or its expiry. Connect your Password Link account, and Neo agents send a new user's first password, or a password they just reset, to the end user as a secret link, then check that the end user opened it.

## What Neo can do with Password Link

* Share a password or another secret as a Password Link secret link, with the expiry, view limit, one-time code or second password your instructions ask for
* Send the link to the right person with the agent's own tools, such as an email or a client-facing ticket note, and keep the password out of every note and email
* Check whether and when a link was opened, and tell a technician when a link expired unopened
* Change a link's settings, or revoke a link sent to the wrong person
* Send an end user a secret request, so they can send you a password or a licence key back as a secret link
* File links in Password Link folders

See [Password Link API](/agents/tools/management/password-link-api) for the permission groups and profiles.

## How the secret stays secret

Password Link only takes secrets encrypted. Neo encrypts each secret before it leaves Neo, in the same way the Password Link web app does, and keeps half of the key in the link. Password Link stores the encrypted secret and never sees the password, unless an agent asks Password Link to email the link for it, which needs the whole key.

A Password Link secret names none of your clients by itself, so there is no company mapping to set up.
