# Ingram Micro

> Connect Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace so agents can read subscriptions and prices, add or remove licence seats, and order a product a client does not hold yet

Neo connects to the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace API. With it connected, an agent can:

* Read customers, subscriptions, orders and billing reports
* Look up products, their prices and plans, and the activation parameters an order needs
* Price an order without placing it
* Order a product a client does not hold yet, or renew a subscription, after a technician approves it
* Submit a subscription cancellation after a technician approves it; Ingram holds it until someone approves it in the Ingram Micro portal
* Add or remove seats on an existing subscription with [Change License Seats](/agents/tools/m365/change-license-seats)

## Connect Ingram Micro

<Steps>
  <Step title="Get your Marketplace API credentials">
    Activate the free Marketplace API add-on, then copy your username, password, subscription key, API URL and marketplace code. See [Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace](/integrations/marketplaces/intro#ingram-micro-cloud-marketplace).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save them in Neo">
    Open [**Integrations**](https://dashboard.neoagent.io/integrations?open=ingram_micro), select **Ingram Micro**, enter the five values, and click **Save**. Neo checks them with Ingram before it saves.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the customer mapping">
    Neo maps your Ingram Micro customers to PSA companies after each PSA sync. Open the **Organization Mapping** tab of Ingram Micro, confirm any suggested match, and map any customer left unmapped. To override a match, add the Ingram Micro customer ID under **Marketplace Company IDs** on the company's page in [Companies](https://dashboard.neoagent.io/end-companies). Agents use this ID for orders and cancellations, and each approval request names the Ingram Micro customer.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What agents can do

Agents call Ingram Micro through the [Vendor API](/agents/tools/vendor-api) tool, which is added when you give the agent Ingram Micro permissions in its settings. Each permission group has its own access level:

| Permission group | What it covers |
| - | - |
| **Customers** | Ingram Micro customers and sub-resellers, creating or updating a customer |
| **Products & Pricing** | Products, prices, plans and activation parameters (read-only) |
| **Subscriptions** | Subscriptions with seat counts, terms and renewal dates, auto-renewal |
| **Orders** | Order history, price estimates, and new, renewal and cancellation orders |
| **Billing Reports** | Billing reports Ingram has generated, and their download links (read-only) |

The access profiles are **Read Only**, **Helpdesk** (every change asks a technician first) and **IT Admin** (no approval, except the changes below). You can set approval per permission group.

<Warning>
  These changes always ask a technician for approval, in every profile: a new, renewal, migration or cancellation order, a customer status change (a hold or a cancel stops every service of that customer), and turning a subscription's auto-renewal on or off. Ingram bills you for an order, and Microsoft does not let you reduce or cancel an annual commitment after its first days.
</Warning>

Ingram holds a cancellation order until someone approves it in the Ingram Micro portal. After the technician approves it in Neo, the agent submits the cancellation and says that it waits for that approval; the service and its billing continue until then.

Agents cannot change prices, schedule a new billing report, set a contact's password, move a subscription to another customer, change an order's status, or change reseller accounts. Do these in the Ingram Micro portal.

## Buying a product a client does not hold

1. The agent finds the product and its billing and commitment terms, and checks that the client does not hold it.
2. It checks the activation parameters the product needs, and prices the order with Ingram, which buys nothing and needs no approval.
3. It asks a technician to approve the order. The request names the product, the quantity, the billing and commitment terms and the price.
4. After approval, it places the order with exactly those values.
5. For a Microsoft product, once the order completes and the licence shows in the client's Microsoft 365 tenant, the agent assigns it if it has the M365 Licensing permission; otherwise it uses your licensing tool, such as CIPP, or hands the step to a technician.

## Seat changes

To add or remove seats on a subscription the client already holds, the agent uses [Change License Seats](/agents/tools/m365/change-license-seats). Ingram allows one pending change order per subscription, so the Vendor API tool refuses every change order: one would block the seat change. Change a plan, billing term or commitment in the Ingram Micro portal.
