# Connecting Jotform to Neo

> Create a Jotform API key, save it in Neo, and start agents from form submissions

You connect Jotform once at the MSP level, with an API key from the Jotform account that owns your forms.

## 1. Create an API key in Jotform

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the API settings">
    Sign in to Jotform with the account that owns the forms, open **Settings**, and click **API**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create the key">
    Click **Create New Key** and name it "Neo". Under **Permissions**, choose:

    | Permission | What agents can do |
    | - | - |
    | Read Access | Read forms, questions and submissions |
    | Full Access | Also mark, edit, add and delete submissions, and change forms, reports, webhooks, folders and labels |

    Choose Full Access if an agent should mark submissions read once it handles them.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Copy the key">
    Copy the key. Neo acts as the account that made it, so it reads every form that account owns.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Each Jotform plan has a daily API call limit: 1,000 calls a day on the free plan, 10,000 on Bronze, 50,000 on Silver and 100,000 on Gold. The count resets at midnight US Eastern time.

## 2. Add Jotform in Neo

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Integrations">
    Open [**Integrations → Jotform**](https://dashboard.neoagent.io/integrations?tab=directory\&open=jotform) in the Neo Dashboard. The card is under Other.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the connection">
    Pick the **Region** you sign in to: [www.jotform.com](http://www.jotform.com), eu.jotform.com for an EU account, or hipaa.jotform.com for a HIPAA account. Paste the **API Key** and click **Save**. Neo checks the key with Jotform before it saves, so a wrong key or region is rejected straight away.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## 3. Start an agent from each submission

<Steps>
  <Step title="Send the form's email to your PSA">
    In the Jotform form builder, open **Settings → Emails**, and add or edit a **Notification Email**. Set its recipient to the address your PSA turns into tickets, such as your Autotask, ConnectWise or Halo support mailbox.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Put the submission id in the email">
    In the email's content, add the **Submission ID** field. The agent then reads the exact submission behind the ticket. Without it, the agent finds the submission by the form's name and the answers in the email, and asks a technician when two submissions match.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set up the agent">
    Create or open an agent that is triggered on new tickets, such as your onboarding or offboarding agent, and filter it to the tickets these emails open. Turn on Jotform in its Integrations section (step 4), and say in its instructions what to do for each form, for example "For the New Starter form, create the Microsoft 365 user from the answers".
  </Step>
</Steps>

To open a ticket for each submission on a schedule instead, give a scheduled agent the Jotform **Forms** and **Submissions** groups and your PSA's ticket permissions, and name the form in its instructions.

## 4. Turn Jotform on per agent

Open the agent from [**Agents**](https://dashboard.neoagent.io/agents), go to the Integrations section, and configure the Jotform block. To read submissions, set **Forms** and **Submissions** to Read Only: the agent finds a form by its name through Forms. To mark submissions handled as well, set **Submissions** to Read / Write. The Helpdesk profile asks a technician before each change to a submission, and IT Admin makes it on its own.

See [Jotform API](/agents/tools/management/jotform-api) for what each profile does.
