# Connecting Ingram Micro Hardware to Neo

> Create an app in Ingram Micro's developer portal and save its keys in Neo

You connect Ingram Micro Hardware once at the MSP level, with the keys of one app in Ingram Micro's developer portal and your Ingram reseller account number.

## 1. Create the app

1. Sign in at [developer.ingrammicro.com](https://developer.ingrammicro.com) with your Xvantage account, and open **My Apps**.
2. Create an app (or open your default app) and copy its **Client ID** and **Client Secret**. Keep the secret out of email and chat.
3. Ask Ingram to approve the app for production, as the portal describes. Until Ingram approves it, the app's keys reach Ingram's **Sandbox**, which answers with test data.

Ordering through the API needs net terms with Ingram Micro: Ingram does not take card payment for API orders.

## 2. Add the keys in Neo

**1. Open Integrations**

In the Neo Dashboard, open **Integrations** and find the **Ingram Micro Hardware** card, under Sales & Quoting.

**2. Fill in the fields**

* **Environment**: Production once Ingram approved the app, else Sandbox.
* **Client ID** and **Client Secret**: from My Apps.
* **Customer Number**: your Ingram Micro reseller account number, for example 20-222222.
* **Country Code**: the two-letter code of the Ingram country your account is in, for example US or CA.
* **Xvantage User Email** (optional): the email you sign in to Xvantage with. Ingram needs it to search quotes, create a quote and estimate freight.

**3. Save**

Click **Save settings**. Neo signs in with the keys and reads one catalogue row with your account before it saves, so wrong keys, a wrong account number, or production keys that Ingram has not approved yet are rejected straight away.

Neo calls `https://api.ingrammicro.com` (and `/sandbox` for the Sandbox) with a token from your app, and your customer number and country code in the `IM-CustomerNumber` and `IM-CountryCode` headers.

## 3. Turn Ingram Micro Hardware on per agent

Open the agent, go to the Integrations section, and pick an access profile for the Ingram Micro Hardware block, or set each area yourself.

| Area | Notes |
| - | - |
| **Products, Pricing & Deals** | Catalogue, your price, stock per warehouse, deals and freight estimates. Read only. |
| **Quotes** | Search, read and create quotes. A new quote is ready to order in Xvantage; nothing ships until someone orders it. |
| **Quote Emails** | Create a quote that Ingram emails, with your Ingram prices, to the addresses named. Leave it off unless the agent should email quotes. |
| **Orders** | Read orders; place, change and cancel them. An order spends money on your Ingram account, so every profile but Full Automation asks a technician first. |
| **Invoices** | Read only. |
| **Renewals** | Read only. |
| **Returns** | Read return requests and open one. |
| **Subscriptions** | Read Xvantage cloud subscriptions and estimate a change. Read only. |

See [Ingram Micro Hardware API](https://docs.neoagent.io/agents/tools/sales/ingram-micro-reseller-api.md) for what each profile allows.
