# Float

> Find who is free on a date, book technicians on projects, and report utilization from your Float schedule

Float is resource scheduling: who works on which project on which days, for how many hours, beside time off and holidays. Connect your own Float account once with its API key, and Neo agents can read the schedule, book technicians on projects and report on it.

## What Neo can do with Float

* Answer who is free on a date or a range of days, with each technician's free hours
* Book a technician on a project for the dates your PSA project needs, and move or end a booking
* Create the Float project for a PSA project, and keep its phases, milestones and team current
* Record time off, read holidays and logged time
* Post booked, billable and free hours per technician or project for a week or a month

## Who is free for a project

Ask Neo in a chat, or let an agent on a project ticket do it: "Who is free on 10 to 12 November for 6 hours a day?" Neo reads Float's capacity report for those days, checks each technician's bookings and time off, and names the technicians with the hours free. With write access to the Schedule group, it then books the one you choose on the Float project.

When Neo creates a Float project for a PSA project, it sets the project's code in Float to the PSA ticket or project id, such as `HALO-4512`, so later runs find the same project.

## Bookings in Outlook

Float's own Outlook Calendar integration sends each person's bookings and time off to their Outlook calendar. Each person turns it on once in Float, under their profile icon > **Calendar integrations**. When your agent's instructions ask for it, Neo can also put a booking on your PSA's calendar as an appointment, which your PSA's own calendar sync shows in Outlook.

See [Float API](https://docs.neoagent.io/agents/tools/management/float-api.md) for the permission groups.
