# Connecting Float to Neo

> Copy your Float API key and save it in Neo

You connect Float once at the MSP level, with the API key of your Float account.

## 1. Copy the API key

Only the Account Owner of your Float team can see the API key. In Float, open **Company settings > Integrations > Float API** and copy the key. The key acts as the Account Owner and stays valid until it is regenerated in the same place, so keep it out of email and chat.

Neo calls Float at `https://api.float.com/v3` with the key as a bearer token.

If your Float account allows API calls only from listed IP addresses, add Neo's addresses first: see [IP whitelisting](https://docs.neoagent.io/integrations/ip-whitelisting.md). Float refuses a call from any other address as it refuses a wrong key.

## 2. Add the key in Neo

**1. Open Integrations**

In the Neo Dashboard, open **Integrations** and find the Float card, under Project Management.

**2. Save the key**

Paste the API key and click **Save settings**. Neo checks it against Float before saving, so a wrong or regenerated key is rejected straight away.

## 3. Turn Float on per agent

Open the agent, go to the Integrations section, and pick an access profile for the Float block, or set each area yourself:

| Area | Access levels you can pick | Notes |
| - | - | - |
| **People** | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Matches Float people to your technicians. Holds rates and sign-in accounts as Float stores them. |
| **Schedule** | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Bookings (allocations) and statuses. Booking a technician needs Read / Write. |
| **Time Off & Holidays** | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Time off, team holidays and public holidays. |
| **Projects** | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Projects, clients, phases, milestones, budgets, expenses and rates. |
| **Logged Time** | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Hours logged per day. |
| **Reports** | Disabled, Read Only | Capacity, booked, billable and free hours. "Who is free" needs it. |
