# Paycor API

> Read your own employees, their time cards, punches, hours and time off from Paycor, compare them with PSA time for true utilization, and answer HR questions; personal details, pay, recruiting and reports when you turn them on

The common use is a utilization report: a scheduled agent reads each technician's hours worked from Paycor's time cards, reads the time they logged in your PSA for the same period, and reports the gap per technician.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Automatically enabled when you configure Paycor permissions in your agent workflow. Paycor holds your own staff, so the agent calls your Paycor on every run, whatever the ticket's company.

## What it does

* List your legal entities, employees, their job title, manager, department, work location, status and employment dates
* Read time cards, punches, hours, payroll hours, schedules, time off requests and accruals for a date range
* Create time off requests, approve or unapprove time cards, and add hours or punches
* Hire an employee, and change an employee's contact details, position and status
* Read and change personal details, pay rates, deductions, direct deposits, taxes and benefit plans, and the applicant tracking system
* Run saved Report Builder reports and JSON file imports

Neo does not send the calls that answer with a file or take one (a pay stub PDF, a tax form, a report download, a file import): the agent uses the JSON call beside each one, and a person opens the file in Paycor.

Neo replaces Social Security numbers, bank account and routing numbers, I-9 document, passport and admission numbers, and OAuth secrets and tokens in every Paycor answer, so the agent never reads one. A write that sends Neo's placeholder back is refused. When the agent changes a direct deposit, an HSA account or the I-9 and leaves those numbers out, Neo keeps the numbers Paycor has.

## The parts of a record

An agent can ask Paycor for more of a record in one read with `include`, such as an employee's position and status, or a person's email and phones. Each part it asks for needs that part's permission group: a person's demographic data, addresses, emergency contacts and Social Security number need Personal Details.

## Permission groups

| Group | Access levels | Covers |
| - | - | - |
| Employees | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Employees with their position, status, work location and employment dates, hiring, contact details, position and status changes, onboarding, persons with their email and phones, managers, employee custom fields and certifications |
| Personal Details | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Birth dates, gender, demographic, military and social media data, home addresses, emergency contacts, the I-9 and the search by Social Security number |
| Pay, Tax & Benefits | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Pay rates, earnings, deductions, direct deposits and HSA accounts, pay stubs, taxes, benefit plans, on-demand pay, payroll settings and the general ledger |
| Time & Attendance | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Time cards, punches, hours and payroll hours, schedules and shifts, time off requests, plans and accruals, labor codes, time card approval and labor forecasting |
| Organization | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Legal entities, departments, work locations and sites, job titles, status reasons, legal entity custom fields and certifications, subscribed services |
| Recruiting | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | The applicant tracking system's accounts, jobs and candidates |
| Reports & Imports | Disabled, Read Only, Read / Write | Report Builder reports and their data, and file imports with their results. A report can hold any field its Paycor user sees |

## Access profiles

| Profile | What runs on its own | What asks a technician |
| - | - | - |
| **Read Only** | Reads in Employees, Time & Attendance and Organization | No write is allowed |
| **Helpdesk** | The same reads | A change to an employee or to their time |
| **IT Admin** | Every read and write in Employees, Time & Attendance and Organization | Nothing |
| **Full Automation** | Every Paycor call Neo sends, in every group | Nothing |

Read Only, Helpdesk and IT Admin keep Personal Details, Pay, Tax & Benefits, Recruiting and Reports & Imports off. Turn one on by hand for an agent that needs it.

## Safety Controls

No Paycor write always asks a technician: each one follows its group's approval setting and the agent's access profile.
